Variance of Newtonian constant from local gravitational acceleration measurements

چکیده

We use IGETS absolute gravitational acceleration measurement data to study the variance. The relative variance of $\delta g /g$ in 22 years is less than $4\times 10^{-8}$. Since G /G\lessapprox\delta /g $, this implies Newtonian constant $3\times 10^{-9}$ based on an sine-like oscillation hypothesis. This limit at least 4 orders magnitude better existing $G$ measurements. scattered values reported measurements coming from different experiments are most probably systematic errors associated with these and not due intrinsic time variation $G$. also find that $\dot{ G} /G<5.61\times 10^{-10} \text{yr}^{-1}$ a linear best terrestrial result so far.

Preliminary determination of Newtonian gravitational constant with angular acceleration feedback method.

This paper describes the preliminary measurement of the Newtonian gravitational constant G with the angular acceleration feedback method at HUST. The apparatus has been built, and preliminary measurement performed, to test all aspects of the experimental design, particularly the feedback function, which was recently discussed in detail by Quan et al. The experimental results show that the resid...

Gravitational Acceleration of Spinning Bodies From Lunar Laser Ranging Measurements

The Sun’s 1/c order gravitational gradient accelerations of Earth and Moon, dependent on the motions of the latter bodies, act upon the system’s internal angular momentum. Not only does this gravitational spin-orbit force (which plays an important part in calculating gravity wave signal templates from astrophysical sources) slightly accelerate the Earth-Moon system as a whole, it more robustly ...

Post-Newtonian Gravitational Radiation

Let us declare that the most important devoir of any physical theory is to draw firm predictions for the outcome of laboratory experiments and astronomical observations. Unfortunately, the devoir is quite difficult to fulfill in the case of general relativity, essentially because of the complexity of the Einstein field equations, to which only few exact solutions are known. For instance, it is ...

Model-independent test of spatial variations of the Newtonian gravitational constant in some extrasolar planetary systems

In this paper we directly test the possibility that the Newtonian gravitational constant G may experience spatial variations over ranges ≈ 0.01− 5 AU in various extrasolar multi-planet systems by means of the third Kepler’s law. The answer is negative, within the experimental errors, for all the considered systems. A comparison with an analogous test previously performed in our Solar System is ...

Atom interferometry gravity-gradiometer for the determination of the Newtonian gravitational constant G

We developed a gravity-gradiometer based on atom interferometry for the determination of the Newtonian gravitational constant G. The apparatus, combining a Rb fountain, Raman interferometry and a juggling scheme for fast launch of two atomic clouds, was specifically designed to reduce possible systematic effects. We present instrument performances and show that the sensor is able to detect the ...
